Information about the various service branches can be found on their individual websites, as well as from local recruiters. Recruiters can assist you in completing a variety of forms to validate your eligibility and answer specific questions.
TESTING
The Military Aptitude Test (ASVAB).
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery is a required assessment for all applicants. It is a career assessment tool used to identify areas of strength. It is available for students in grades, 10, 11, 12, and beyond. Only students in grade 11 and beyond receive scores valid for enlistment.

In the past BHS has offered testing at the high school, however, this is not currently an option. Students interested in taking the exam are encouraged to connect with a recruiter and schedule a test at the nearest Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS).

JROTC
Bourne High School does not offer a Junior Reserves Officer Training Corps (JROTC) program, however, we recognize that students may be seeking information about local programming to support their current and future educational/career plans and we are invested in supporting our students' interests. ROTC
ROTC is The Reserve Officers' Training Corps, which is a college based training program for all branches of the military. (The US Coast Guard and the Marines do not have their own ROTC program.) ROTC can help pay pay for college. The following article is helpful in explaining how full ROTC scholarships work.
