Why dual enrollment? Students choose to participate in dual enrollment for varied reasons. For some, it provides an extra challenge and/or an opportunity to explore and deepen areas of specific areas of interest. For others, it's a chance to try something new and dip their toes into college level work to see what it's all about; it helps prepare for the transition to college after high school. College is expensive and taking dual enrollment courses can help save money down the line. Even more, taking general education college courses in high school can jumpstart meeting necessary requirements toward a degree. Other benefits include the opportunity to catch up on meeting high school graduation credits and requirements if students fall behind. Taking a college level course and being successful in it can be a great asset on a transcript and prove to admissions officers that you can manage the increased responsibilities associated with college life and courses.
Our primary dual enrollment partners are Cape Cod Community College (CCCC) and Massachusetts Maritime Academy (MMA). Currently, full- time dual enrollment at CCCC is open to seniors and juniors, at the cost of the family. With any dual enrollment opportunity, it is important to note that there may be age, GPA, course pre-requisite, and testing restrictions as a part of the application process. Students are encouraged to work with their guidance counselors to determine eligibility and receive support with the application.

Cape Cod Community College
Students are welcome to take courses at Cape Cod Community College in the fall, winter, spring, and/or summer semesters. Students work with their guidance counselor to complete the application process. While these courses are at the cost of the family, CCCC has been able to offer grant opportunities in the past. When these become available, students are notified. Additionally, if students are eligible for CDEP grant funding based on their reported income on the application, it will pay the cost of one course on a one-time basis.
